National cGMP Day celebration

AIC-LMCP, in association with LMCP celebrated first National cGMP Day on 10th October, 2023 by conducting three expert talks by imminent speakers. First session was titled "Implementing cGMP: Reducing Risk of Product Failure" delivered by Dr. Praful Bharadia, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, LMCP. Celebration of World Pharmacists Day

L. M. College of Pharmacy, along with AIC-LMCP, IIC and SSIP hosted a Pharmafest event on 25th September, 2023 to celebrate World Pharmacists Day. Entire event focused on 2023 theme "Pharmacists Strengthening Health Systems" and the day revolved around having panel discussions, PharmaFilm competition, Debate Competition and Beat Plastic Pollution-themed activity. Students from diverse pharmaceutical faculties showed immense enthusiasm and participation in the events.

Boot Camp- Idea to Business Plan

AIC-LMCP foundation in association with IIC, SSIP and IIPG-TBI organized “Boot Camp - Idea to Business Plan” on 28-June-2022 in Shri Hasmukhbhai Chudgar Hall, L. M. College of Pharmacy from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. The event was attended by students (potential startup founders), faculties and startup founders who are aspiring to begin their entrepreneurial journey. During the event experts and specialists walked the participants through the concepts of Design thinking, Ideation & Idea Validation, IP & Patents, Digital marketing and how to build a Business Plan thus helping them to convert their idea into an impactful and effective Business plan. The participants were then distributed into groups and assigned mentors for an activity wherein they had to prepare their own business plans. After an hour of brainstorming, the groups pitched their business plans to the jury members, who gave their expert opinions on the feasibility and applicability of the plans. Onconutrition, EasyPG, E-pharmacy, ParadiseVR and Rx-Card were amongst the pitched ideas; EasyPG being appreciated the most by the jury. A newfound enthusiasm for business and entrepreneurship could be observed among the participants after the event. The boot camp proved to be an excellent opportunity for the participants to learn about various aspects of business and entrepreneurship.

Demo Day

TiE Ahmedabad and AIC-LMCP Foundation organised a Healthcare Demo Day on 03-Jun-2022 for entrepreneurs to pitch their business plan, idea, product and fund request to panel of industry leaders and investors and got guidance on the criteria/ methods used by the investors and experienced business founders to evaluate a venture. A total of 6 startups pitched their idea/business and 35 startups and entrepreneurs attended this event.

Digital Marketing and SEO for Startups

A Hybrid event was organised by AIC-LMCP Foundation, supported by TiE Ahmedabad and Indiabiz. Mr. Jaydip Parikh, the speaker for the day, discussed the options of Digital Marketing for startups and how to use SEO to boost the website. The Session was organized exclusively for M. Pharm students of L. M. College of Pharmacy. The session covered the journey of a research project to a viable business opportunity. Mr. Gaurav Bhardwaj, Manager, AIC-LMCP Foundation gave insights on real life examples of becoming a startup. Dr. Shrinivas Savale walked the attendees through the startup ecosystem and briefed on what services are provided at AIC-LMCP Foundation. AIC-LMCP Foundation and LMCP conducted an outreach event for Faculty and Post-graduate-scholars from Gujarat Akhandanand Ayurvedic College (GAAC) and Gujarat Ayurvedic College Vadodara (GACV). Dr. Dilip Jani, Professor, Dravyaguna Shastra, GACV and Dr. Surendra Soni, HOD PG Department of Kayachikitsa, GAAC, were the guests for this event. Dr. M.T. Chhabria, Principal, LMCP gave an introductory speech regarding scope of innovations, challenges in a drug manufacturing process and how Ayurvedic products and therapies has a key role play in the situation of COVID-19. It was followed by a talk by Dr. Praful Bharadia (Coordinator of SSIP, LMCP) deliberating about Innovation Initiatives at LMCP and how the whole process works. Concluding session was taken up by Dr. Shrinivas Savale (CEO of AIC-LMCP) discussing how to translate an idea to enterprise with the help of incubation centre. Further on this day, an MoU was signed between LMCP, AIC-LMCP Foundation and GACV for research, development and entrepreneurship facilitation.

An online webinar on ‘Use of Herbal products during pandemic - Controversies and Benefits’ was conducted where Dr. Lal Hingorani, MD, Pharmanza, delivered an excellent talk on increase in use of herbal remedies during the COVID pandemic and also deliberated on probable contraindications, recent advances in the field as well as advantages of herbal products.

The faculty and participants of the course were felicitated with the Certificates. Mr. Belapure discussed that despite several advancements in pharma industries, technological advances are incremental and not radical unlike other industries. He highlighted three major areas of technological advances - 1) Continuous manufacturing of API and formulations, 2) 3D-Printing and 3) Digitalisation in terms of automation and data exchange. He mentioned that, in India, economic considerations are more significant than regulatory issues. IT and Pharma are two major industries and they have to unite to effect the necessary change. Even large companies in India are also in early stages of technological advancement. About 60 participants were benefited during this interactive session.
