The expert speakers of this event were Mr. Anand Sanghvi, Partner, ValServe Corporate Advisors LLP, Ahmedabad and Mr. Hardik Chopra, Head, Advisory Services, Indiabiz. In this session Mr. Sanghvi discussed essential and critical elements of a startup business plan with case studies. He also emphasized on the importance of market analysis, investor connect and also guided on how to design the business plan and Executive Summary for the startup.

Dr. Shrinivas Savale, CEO, AIC-LMCP Foundation, was invited as a Speaker in the Weeklong Capacity Building Online Workshop on “Idea to enterprise” organized by Babaria Institute of Pharmacy. He derived a lecture on “Innovation and startup opportunities in Pharma and Healthcare sector”. Through this event AIC-LMCP Foundation reached out to 124 startups, faculties and students and spread awareness about AIC-LMCP Foundation’s role as facilitator for translation of innovative ideas into enterprises in the pharma and healthcare sector.

AIC-LMCP Foundation organized an Informative session on the ‘Funding Support available to Startups under Scheme for assistance for Startups/ Innovation – Gujarat Industrial Policy – 2020’ to understand the provisions, eligibility and process of application for availing such funding assistance under the Scheme. This session was organized exclusively for the incubatees associated with AIC-LMCP Foundation.

In this online event, Ms. Janki Joshi, Project Executive; and Ms. Sanjana Iyer, Project Executive, Startup Cell Gujarat, Industry Commission - Govt. of Gujarat, elaborated on the subject and answered queries of the participants. Founders/team members of 22 startups participated in this event.

College of Pharmacy, AIC-LMCP, SSIP-LMCP, IIC-LMCP organized a session on ‘Preparation for regulatory submission of drug product in India and other countries and subsequent course of action’. This session focussed on various requirements for regulatory submission to get marketing authorization for drug products in India and other countries. Specific emphasis was given on clinical development requirements. Mr. Vishal Jain, Director, C-Trials Global; Mr. Dhruv Raval, Manager - Global RA, Amneal Pharmaceuticals Lt.; and Mr. Hiren Rajguru, Director, QRS Compliance, shared their knowledge during this session. A total of 110 faculties and students participated in this online-offline event.

AIC-LMCP Foundation in association with INDIABIZ (www.indiabizforsale.com) organised a knowledge sharing session on "Growing your business through Investments". This was a kick-off session of collaboration with Indiabiz and organised exclusively for the incubatees associated with AIC-LMCP Foundation. Through this collaboration Indiabiz will provide certain support to all the incubatees at AIC-LMCP Foundation in terms of onboarding on the platform for business opportunities, connecting with investors and networking globally. It will also provide custom-made business services to the startups. In this offline-online event Mr. Bhavin Bhagat, Co-Founder, Indiabiz, discussed about types and importance of funding and essentials for seeking investment. Ms. Deepty Chopra, Analyst, Indiabiz, explained features of Indiabiz platform and onboarding process for the startups. Twenty-five participants took advantage of this session.

AIC-LMCP and LMCP had jointly organised the outreach event for 1st Year M. Pharm. students of LMCP. In this event Dr. Shrinivas Savale (CEO, AIC-LMCP Foundation) and Mr. Yash Pandya (Incubation Manager, AIC-LMCP Foundation) briefed about innovation and entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem. Ms. Priyal Shah conducted the tour to the lab facilities and explained about various advanced technologies available at the AIC-LMCP. The students were informed about the operational process of incubation centre and the support provided to the startups. There were 34 students participated in this outreach event.

College of Pharmacy, AIC-LMCP, SSIP-LMCP, IIC-LMCP arranged a webinar on ‘Changing Dynamics in Pharmaceutical Product Management and Marketing in recent times’ by Shri. P. K. RAJPUT, Senior Vice President, Domestic Business, Cadila Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Rajput focused on new innovative ideas, creativity and technologies deployed for Pharmaceutical Product Management and Marketing and touched upon the role of digital marketing, Digital Health Record and artificial intelligent in marketing of drug products. He emphasized on tools of AI and emerging change from physical to digital, supporting value-based propositions and creating need in the mind of customer instead of just selling a product or service. About 85 enthusiasts including faculty and students participated in this webinar.

Through this webinar Mr. Shrijay Sheth, Founder of LegalWiz.in, briefed on types of companies, process of corporate registration and compliances requirements for various types of companies to ALF Startups. The participants were the startups associated with AIC-LMCP Foundation and other startups, aspiring students, faculty and startup enthusiasts.

L. M. College of Pharmacy and partners AIC-LMCP, SSIP-LMCP and IIC-LMCP organised a webinar on “2nd COVID-19 Awareness Program” by Dr. Samip Sheth, M.B., D (Ortho), CIMS Hospital, Ahmedabad. He updated the participants on the current pandemic situation, various symptoms, modalities of diagnosis, treatment and support for the COVID patients. He also elaborated on COVID-appropriate behaviour (Dos and Don’ts). More than 120 researchers, startups and industrialist participated in this event.

A webinar on ‘Microbial Fermentation: Challenges Vs Opportunities’ by Mr. Anurag Mehta, COO, Synbiotics Ltd., was organized by IPA, Gujarat State Branch in association with L. M. College of Pharmacy and the partners AIC-LMCP, SSIP-LMCP and IIC-LMCP.

Mr. Mehta explained the importance of microbial fermentation and the challenges and opportunities in drug discovery process. He also highlighted the advancement and newer technology applied in microbial fermentation process highlighting that the process will be a blockbuster tool for chemotherapeutic drug discovery process in future. There were 30 participants in the webinar.

IPA, Gujarat State Branch in association with L. M. College of Pharmacy and event partners AIC-LMCP, SSIP-LMCP and IIC-LMCP, arranged webinar on ‘Technology - The Game Changer in Pharma’ by Sri. S. G. Belapure, Senior Technical Advisor, Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance.

Mr. Belapure discussed that despite several advancements in pharma industries, technological advances are incremental and not radical unlike other industries. He highlighted three major areas of technological advances - 1) Continuous manufacturing of API and formulations, 2) 3D-Printing and 3) Digitalisation in terms of automation and data exchange. He mentioned that, in India, economic considerations are more significant than regulatory issues. IT and Pharma are two major industries and they have to unite to effect the necessary change. Even large companies in India are also in early stages of technological advancement. About 60 participants were benefited during this interactive session.

Bukkapatnam, Rockwell International Professor, Dept. of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Texas A&M University, USA, on 18th September, 2020. During this talk Dr. Bukkapatnam discussed about the smart manufacturing and how recent advances in IoT, AI, 3D printing and sensors are leading a new generation of wearable and point of care devices that can truly democratize healthcare.

College of Pharmacy jointly organized a webinar on "Current trends in research and development for COVID-19 vaccine" on 18-Jul-2020. The speakers included Dr. Mukul Jain, President, Zydus Research Centre, Cadila Healthcare Ltd. and Dr. Lakshmikanth Gandikota, VP, Innovation Science & Technology, Intas Pharmaceuticals-Biopharma Div. The speakers discussed various approaches for vaccine research and development - from discovery to clinical trials. They also threw light on the current scenario with respect to regulations and anticipated timelines for the availability of vaccine.

AIC-LMCP Foundation hosted the first Atal Research and Innovation in Small Enterprises (ARISE), Innovation Demo Day (Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare sector) organized by Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog on 3rd Feb 2020. The objective of this initiative was to connect innovation and the Indian MSME industry to bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, corporate partners, academics, researchers and other stakeholders for a showcase of innovations along with panel discussions, pitching sessions and networking.
Ms. Ishita Agrawal, Programme Director, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, briefed about various initiatives of AIM in promoting innovation and the objectives of ARISE demo day. This was followed by Panel Discussion on “Commercializing innovations by Startups & public R&D labs and promoting innovations in sunrise/deep tech sectors” in which Dr. J. S. Yadav (Director (Research), Indrashil University), Shri Sunil Parekh (Chief Corporate Affairs Advisor – Zydus Group and Founding Curator World Economic Forum), Shri Pavan Bakeri (Managing Director, Bakeri Group and Mentor, AIC-LMCP Foundation), Dr. M. T. Chhabria (Principal, LMCP and Member Secretary, Gov. Board, AIC-LMCP Foundation), Dr. Viranchi Shah (Director, Saga Laboratories and Mentor, AIC-LMCP Foundation) and Ms. Ishita Agrawal joined as panellists. Mr. Vipul Patel, Partner-Seed Investments, CIIE, shared his thoughts on “Looking from an Investor perspective” and provided tips on what an investor looks into an innovation and what makes a startup investible. This was followed by presentation of innovations in Chemicals, Pharma and Healthcare sector by innovators in front of the investor jury comprised of Mr. Varun Joshi (VP – Investments, GVFL), Mr. Munir Thakor (Ahmedabad Angel Network) and Mr. Vipul Patel. Prof. A. H. Kalro, Academic Advisor, AES and Member, Gov. Board, AIC-LMCP Foundation gave a keynote address and shared his valuable thoughts about status and importance of propagation of innovation culture in India. The event concluded with showcase of Innovations by 10 startups, networking and high-tea. About 70 participants including various stakeholders of the innovation and startup ecosystem from across Gujarat participated in this unique initiative which was well supported by AIC-Indrasheel, AIC-GISC and AIC-GUSEC.

AIC-LMCP Foundation with e-Chai also organized one of its major event “Pharma and Healthcare and Innovation Summit 2.0” on 12th Oct 2019 which included expert talks on the theme, a panel discussion with founders of the rising startups in the sector as panellists followed by showcase of innovative startup ideas in Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare sector in front of the investors and corporate leaders. Dr. Shivprakash R. (MD, Synchron Research), Dr. Lakshmikanth Gandikota (VP, Innovation Science and Technology, Intas Pharmaceuticals - Biopharma Division), and Ms. Archa Khandelwal (Business Analyst, O2h) delivered the expert talks while Dr. Amit Gupta (Founder, Airmed Pathology Lab), Mr. Maulik Mistry, (Founder, Orange Nutraceuticals), Mr. Sanjay Patel (Founder, ExcelonIP) and Dr. Arpit Patwari (Partner, PharmAce Research Services) were the panellists. 110 participants including innovators, startup founders, students and faculty, investors, corporate leaders and mentors participated in the event.
